How do I do my taxes from the couch?

The Four Steps to Couch Taxes 

Step One: Talk to Helen. You can ring her on 08 9185 9400, or send her an email at [email protected] 

Step Two: Answer the questions Helen asks. She will then enter you into our system and you’ll get some links from our automated system Content Snare.  

Step Three: Answering questions and uploading paperwork while you’re sitting on your couch!  

Step Four: We'll do your taxes, send you any questions we might have and submit your taxes for you! If you’ve got a refund coming, congratulations! If you need to pay, the Tax Office will let you know and it will be due by the 6th June (if lodging after April). Hopefully in this instance you’ve been organised and tucking away a regular percentage of income in preparation! 

The Secret of Doing your Taxes from your Couch 

Content Snare is our secret sauce for providing you with a wizard that steps you through your taxes and tells you what documents you need.  

It asks you questions, and depending on your answers, it creates a list of the receipts, invoices and information we’ll need from you to complete your end of year taxes.  

Content Snare is built to securely and safely capture your documents for your tax returns. Most businesses and organisations trade using digital invoices, receipts and paperwork. This might mean you have a collection of PDFs, Word Docs, Excel Spreadsheets and more. While it makes your inbox a mess, it does mean your paperwork is now searchable, already timestamped, and in a central location. 

You can upload scans, PDF files, or even photos into Content Snare, even from your mobile phone.  

And it has an internal list, so you can see the list reducing as you go!  

It also sends you reminders if you haven’t finished your tax submission, so you can’t forget!  

Another great feature is if you have questions or queries, you can use Content Snare to send us a message, and we’ll use it to message you back. This way we have a record of questions, answers and assistance.  

What Next?
